 WEEK 9 PREVIEW

 

RANCHERS, EL-KANEMI BATTLES FOR DIVISION A LEADERSHIP

 

As the first round of the Nigeria National League, NNL draws to an end this weekend, clubs have continued to position themselves for the great battle for promotion to the elite league.

 

In division A the fight to top the table has continued to be between Ranchers bees FC of Kaduna and Maiduiguri based El- Kanemi warriors. The two clubs, been coached by unarguably some of the best hands in the Nigerian League (Kadiri Ikhana and kelechi Emetole) have remained glued to the top positions on the table since the beginning of the season. In the last game of the first round this weekend, Ranchers bees look favoured to remain on top, when they try to sting bottom placed 36 lions FC in kafanchan, while the Maiduguri warriors will file out for a demolition mission when they welcome another struggling side in the division, FC Taraba in Maiduguri, Spotlight FC will complete the division’s pairings for the week with a visit to Sadauna FC in kano.

 

DIVISION B

 

In division B, Nasarawa united FC, currently on top will seek to maintain its prime position as they confront Adamawa united in far away Atiku Abubakar stadium in Yola, while another top contender, Plateau united will host Sokoto united in Jos. Meridean FC of kano will welcome Giwa FC, while NAF Rockets FC of Abuja will be facing the fireworks of fast improved Kogi united at the Aguiyi Ironsi stadium in Abuja.

 

DIVISION C

 

Unicem Rovers FC of Calabar, which is free this week end looks set to remain on top of the division as the league goes on recess after the week end matches. Second placed Nembe city which is preparing for its official launching ceremony will welcome hostilities from the Ademola Adeshina tutored Prime FC in Yenegoa, while Abia comets of Umuahia will be expected to face first bank FC at the Onikan stadium. Remo FC of Shagamu, fresh from a score line draw against Nembe city in Shagamu will play host to Grays international, while bottom placed Go Round FC of Port Harcourt will host Akwa starlets FC of Eket in Port Harcourt.

 

 

DIVISION D

 

In Division D, Ajiroba Ooni FC will play host to middle placed Abia warriors, while struggling Bendel Insurance, fresh from its first victory in the league will play host to Bridge FC . Table contenders, Bayelsa united FC will face Ila FC while former U 17 star, Oladunmi Oyakale will lead his young side, Crown FC against Gateway FC in Ogbomosho.
